Following the official re-opening on Saint Andrew's day, the Committee wanted to provide a time when those in the local community, who couldn't come along during the week, could come and see the improvements made to their heritage site. The building was being hired for the following week end so the 10th December was decided upon. After the crowds of the official opening, it was quite a quiet affair, with a steady stream of visitors inspecting the building both inside and out.
There was also a visit from BBC Radio Devon and several enquiries regarding the letting of the halls. Visitors were not yet able to watch the film of the restoration, as this is due for editing and production in the new year. Instead some watched a film covering the South Tawton Parish and some of its activities. Church House will close now for public visits and reopen on April 2nd. It is however, still available for private bookings - see the Contact & Bookings page of this site.
