Duncan Rice exhibition "Animals as Landscape"
"Observing ponies, cows and sheep enduring the moor in all weathers, has instilled a great respect in me for these familiar creatures. The starkness of the moor is made more vivid by their presence, and they in turn are given a “charisma of Wildness” (to quote the naturalist writer Richard Mabey) by Dartmoor, although the focus of the current exhibit falls firmly on the animals themselves ."
