The Premises

Church House is open to the public, as a Heritage Centre, during April to October on Sundays and Wednesdays. The premises may be booked for a variety of functions, during the whole year, either the ground floor, the first floor or the whole building for the morning, afternoon, evening or any contiguous combination of times. For some events e.g. art exhibitions, craft fairs, etc. the seasonal public openings may be a welcome bonus. Private functions however cannot be booked during the public opening times.

The accomodation consists of a large first floor Hall (the old Feasting Hall), a smaller first floor Heritage Room with audio visual facilities, a ground floor large Hall (the medieval roasting/brewing area) and also on the ground floor, a modern Food Preparation area, a male toilet and a disability/female/baby changing toilet facility.

The ground floor has disability access via a ramp and a sound loop is installed. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the external granite steps, the first floor is not accessible for those with mobility problems. During the public opening times, a portable DVD player is available with video footage of the heritage sights on the first floor.
